Yorkies of Windwood

About Me

P.S. This old hymn you are listening too (In The Gardern) is my way of keeping God in our country. It has wonderful memories of my childhood. I believe our children and grandchildren should be able to remember saying the Pledge of Allegiance with God included. if they choose to.

We are celebrating our 30th year as a breeder and exhibitor of Yorkshire Terriers in the Chicagoland area. With Yorkies as our only breed, we are committed to the responsibility of producing Beautiful, Happy and Healthy little toy dogs for pet and show at Yorkies of Windwood. Always an animal lover I started small as my meager allowance would
allow. With free puppies and soon a guinea pig. In High School my
friend and I took horseback riding lessons and we were hooked
for many years. Of course, we just couldn't allow our favorite horse
to be worn our from being so popular so we bought him.
Eventually marriage and children, horses and dogs fiiled our lives.
*Until* the Yorkie bug snuck up on me. . . I have never recovered!
They are truly a beautiful and unique breed of dogs. Our first little
pet Yorkie Misha turned my head forever. Now close to 30 years
later I still love their wonderful blue and gold silk coats on a little
toy dog that is always rarin' to go. I didn't realize until years later
how good that little dog had been at training us! Looking back . . . For those who have goals to carry on the Yorkie
torch and for the people who would just like to know why. From Misha to Fallon our latest little Champion there have been many
wonderful Yorkies. So many have followed or preceeded Misha to
the Rainbow Bridge along with my friend who helped my buy our
first horse and the President of our kennel club, that trained us and
our dogs and praised me for my goals to breed my own show dog.
There have been many good friends along the way, as well as truly
dedicated mentors that every beginner needs.
If you are a breeder, please keep in mind how important a mentor
is and try to find time for the newcomers. A thoughfully answered
question could affect the future of our breed.
For the many people that are owned by one of our puppies
treasure them please for their uniqueness and their unlimited desire
to be loved by you.
